Browse, preview and import files using the Media Browser.

What is the Media Browser?

It's a panel where you can browse, preview and import different types of media.

Locating your media files

Use the folder browser to select a media folder and preview the media you want to import. At the top of the Media Explorer panel, use the search field and the file type drop-down menu to filter the view and reduce the number of files to browse.

Adding favorites in the Media Explorer

Right-click a folder you plan to use often and choose Add to Favorites to create a shortcut for quick access.

Previewing media files

To preview media files in the Media Explorer panel, choose Thumbnail mode to display files as thumbnails.
Double-click a file to preview it in the Source Monitor, or place your cursor over a thumbnail to view its contents.

Media types that can be imported via the Media Explorer

You should use the Media Explorer panel to import all types of media, especially if you are working with fragmented files.

Importing items

To import items into your current project, right-click on them and choose Import.
